There is no magic pill to prevent cognitive decline or to subside your anxiety or depression forever. But, there are foods that create an almighty amount of brain power and support your emotions. Did you know that incorporating certain foods in your diet can improve anxiety, depression, sleep, mood swings, energy levels, memory, and more?

I use to think I had a healthy diet. Not too many carbs or fats and definitely never greasy or fried foods. I would treat myself to ice cream or sugary foods when I worked out, because I thought "I earned it." In reality, the only thing I was doing was jeopardizing my mental health. I was not having proper bowel movements (TMI but who cares), I was not sleeping through the night, and I would have these episodes of anxiety I could not control.
Changing your nutrition is probably one of the hardest things to do. When someone tells you that you can't do something or you can't eat this or that, it makes you want it more. Am I right? But what if I told you that proper nutrition could improve your mental health?
Eating properly is the first step in self care. My favorite saying is, "a happy gut is a happy life."
Foods to Eat:
  • Blueberries
  • Fatty Fish (Salmon)
  • Turmeric
  • Greens (Broccoli, Kale, Avocado, Asparagus etc.)
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Nuts (walnuts, almonds, etc.)
  • Coconut Oil
  • Olive Oil
Food is very powerful variable due to it's influences on your mental health and functionality. Treat your body like a temple and realize it only deserves the highest quality of foods. You are not a garbage truck, so quit feeding yourself trash.
